Neetter is built for people who play games — to talk about them, find people to play with, and argue about them in good faith. These guidelines cover what that requires of everyone. They apply to posts, replies, direct messages, profiles, and game reviews alike.
They sit alongside our Terms of Service. The Terms are the contract; this page is the plain-language version of what we remove and why.
What is not allowed
- Hate speech. Slurs and attacks on people for who they are — race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, or sexuality. Our text filter blocks a list of slurs at the moment you post, including attempts to disguise them with spacing or character substitution.
- Harassment. Targeting someone with abuse, threats, or unwanted contact, including coordinating others to do it.
- Spam. Repetitive posting, engagement farming, and bulk unsolicited promotion. Obvious repetition is blocked at post time.
- Adult content. Sexual imagery is not permitted. Uploaded images and video are scanned before they publish.
- Violent content. Threats of violence, and gore posted to shock. In-game violence is fine — this is a gaming platform.
- Misinformation that causes real-world harm.
- Cheating and exploits. Selling or advertising cheats, boosting services, or account sales. Talking about a cheat or an exploit is fine — this is a gaming platform and that is a real conversation. Selling one is not.
- Impersonation. Passing yourself off as another person, studio, or publisher. Parody and fan accounts are welcome when they say what they are.
- Harm to minors. Covered in full by our Child Safety Standards, and enforced with zero tolerance.
What is fine
Strong opinions, criticism of games and the people who make them, spoilers behind a warning, losing an argument gracefully or otherwise. Disagreeing with someone is not harassment. Being wrong about a game is not misinformation.
How this is enforced
Two layers, and we would rather tell you exactly what they are than imply something more sophisticated:
- At post time. Text is screened for slurs and obvious spam as you publish. If it trips, the post is refused immediately and you are told why — nothing is silently dropped.
- On report. Anything reported goes to a human review queue. You can report a post as spam, harassment, hate, cheating or exploits, adult content, violence, misinformation, or impersonation — the same categories listed above.
Reviewers can remove a post or redact a message. We aim to act on reports quickly, and we do not use automated account bans.
If you think we got it wrong
We would rather hear about it than not. Write to us through Support with the post or message in question. If a post of yours was refused at publish time and you believe the filter misfired, that is worth reporting too — a false positive is a bug.
Blocking and muting
You do not have to wait for us. Blocking stops someone interacting with you or seeing your posts; muting quietly removes them from your feeds and notifications without telling them. Both are in the menu on any post or profile.
